Closing Leo season with a meow meow

Today marks the end of Leo season and I will take a moment to center my lioness heart with a few shares.

One, my family welcomed a new kitten into our world at the end of July, Jasper, a Russian blue with the sweetest temperament and a hint of mischief. He is already proving to be a psychopomp, bringing dreams with messages from the lower/underworld. Grateful, especially for his presence giving our kid the opportunity to pour some cat kinship love in a buddy to compliment his nahual journey with Jaguar/Ocelotl.

Secondly, I am excited to share that my practitioner training in Ancestral Lineage Healing with the Ancestral Medicine network completed on my birthday. (I celebrated with mi mami who made our multigenerational traditional mole, mi papi dj’ing rancheras tunes, and my guys with gifts of flowers, pie and a new cookbook— it was so chill and nourishing). I have been so moved by the honor of witnessing the tremendous gifts, transformations and healings offered by the wise and generous guides and guardians leading the soul tending. I am honored by any referrals to this ritual ground.

Thirdly, at the end of May, I had
my podcast debut on the Snake Priestess podcast. I was bursting with joy to share the sacred stories of my grandmother's heart remedies for loss recorded back in August of 2024. But alas, I held back from sharing due to a whiplash of a severance with this former Snake Medicine teacher/podcast host. It was so sudden and unexpected to lose trust for a teacher that was an anchor through 2 & ½ years of ceremonial community, multiple miscarriages, and an intense illness/surgical threshold. I learned so much about my sovereignty and ability to regenerate, sourcing my authority from the Great Mystery, not the validation of folks who also have their limitations. So here is it, I hope you find the beauty and love of the abuelitas in this listen.

Lastly, a bow of reverence for the three masterful teachers who started their ancestral walk during this time, Joanna Macy, Lionel Corbett, and Andrea Gibson. Deep appreciations for each and a welcome to either explore or revisit their vital work. Profoundly needed for our times.

Your attention has been a gift.

Blessings in all directions.

In love and lineage,

Hola, Piyali, Hello! I am a queer Latina Chicana mestiza ((detribalized Caxcan/ Iberian colonial) mother, storyteller and decolonial somatic psychotherapist licensed in California with fourteen years of clinical experience in the field of depth psychology. My private practice, Imaginal Therapy + Sacred Arts, centers soul care and offers ketamine journeys. I am a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Pacifica Graduate Institute and the Hakomi Institute of California. I specialize in intergenerational trauma, healing the family soul for personal and cultural transformation, and psychedelic/entheogen integration. I work with clients in a holistic approach to connect to collective wisdom through imagination, intuition, mindfulness, embodiment, dreamwork and creative expression. My treatment focus is on relationship, cultural wounds, trauma resolution, ancestral lineage repair, animist parenting, kinship ethics, and reconnecting to the sacred.

I am a certified Ancestral Lineage Healing practitioner and also an initiated serpent medicine keeper and priestess in sacred arts with 8 years of training. As a ritualist and coach, I offer virtual mentoring and circles globally. I am steeped in my traditions, mythology, cultura and roots, originally from the villages of Juchipila, Zac, Mexico, born and raised in Tongva lands, Los Angeles, residing on Nisenan land, Sacramento. My lineage gifts are in storytelling, dignity, sweetness, relating to the spirit magic of bee, deer, maize, and cacao. I have been given the medicine name, Cloud Serpent. I am honored to reclaim reverence for my mother mountain, Tlachialoyantepec, a sacred site. I hold a vow with my people to live the repair, in service of the anima, mundi, the world soul.
